As the United States races to secure its dominance in artificial intelligence, President-elect Donald Trump has unveiled a wave of massive investments aimed at bolstering AI infrastructure and cloud computing. On January 7, Trump introduced Emirati businessman Hussain Sajwani, founder of DAMAC Properties, announcing a $20 billion investment in AI data centers across the country."We’re very, very excited now with his leadership and his open strategy and policy to encourage businesses to come to the U.S. For the last four years we’ve been waiting for this moment," Sajwani declared at the event.
This announcement follows a $100 billion pledge made last month by Japanese billionaire Masayoshi Son, who also stood by Trump’s side in a similar show of confidence in America’s AI future.
Microsoft’s $80 Billion AI Bet
Tech giant Microsoft is also making aggressive moves, with plans to invest $80 billion into AI-driven data centers by the end of 2025. In a blog post, Microsoft President Brad Smith emphasized the importance of AI infrastructure for training advanced models and deploying cloud-based applications worldwide.
